Tapinoma sessile - worker
This time, gaster has only 4 visible segments, and no acidopore (special ring of small hairs) can be seen at apex. Moreover, the scale of a Lasius would be visible from this angle. Compound eyes are nearer to antennal basis than to vertex of head, a hallmark for odorous ants compared with most Formicines (but members of the Plagiolepidini tribe of this latter subfamily are just like Dolichoderines in this respect).
One trick on this picture are the small droplets on the head, which can easily be mistaken for ocelli (odorous ant workers lack them anyway).
