Another fly from last year. sorry but I can not remember the size.

This one is also Minettia magna (Coquillett). And again, nice photo!

Does Richard have the same fly at

The size..
...would have been about 6 mm (1/4"). The fly is a lauxaniid of the genus Minettia (or a closely related genus). It very much resembles the species M. lupulina and M. desmometopa from Europe.
