Hermetia illucens - Black Soldier Fly - Hermetia illucens

Hermetia illucens - Black Soldier Fly - Hermetia illucens
Avon, Ohio, Washington County, Ohio, USA
October 15, 2013
Size: 11-12mm
Pretty sure of the ID on this one but thought it might be useful to have the larva and adult in a single image. Image shows a larva, a prepupa or pupa, and an adult. The adult was reared from a collection that included the other two specimens so it is highly likely that the other two are of the same species. The larva is 11mm long; the body length of the adult is 12mm.
