Purrington FF (2000) A new Selenophorus (Coleoptera: Carabidae) from the Rio Grande in Texas. Entomological News 111(1): 8-12.

ABSTRACT:

Selenophorus chaparralus n. sp. is described from Val Verde, Zapata, and Cameron Counties on the lower Rio Grande of Texas. The male is distinguished by a pair of carinate prominences positioned bilaterally on the disc of abdominal sternum VII.
