Asilidae, possibly Ospriocerus - Ospriocerus

Moved from Robber Flies.

Lovely robber
Very likely a member of the genus Ospriocerus. Texas has about 13 of these. Those elongate and notched antenna are helpful and I get the impression several of the species have this black and red color combination. These do strongly resemble Mydas flies. Though that may be because both strongly mimic something else entirely.
