Assassin Bug with syrphid - Zelus renardii

Assassin Bug with syrphid - Zelus renardii
Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
October 20, 2006
Size: 12 mm
Looks to be a Zelus, so I'm tentatively placing it under that genus. Length measured in place.

Some of the Central American species of Zelus from Biologia Centrali-Americana, shown on this plate (Rhynchota Vol. II, tab. 15) look close, but I don't see a very close match. (Index of plates from Insecta. Rhynchota. Hemiptera-Heteroptera . Volume II (1897-1901) by George C. Champion, are here)
