Fly ID Request - Cochliomyia macellaria

Fly ID Request - Cochliomyia macellaria
Herring Run Park, Baltimore City County, Maryland, USA
November 9, 2006
Blue!

Secondary screwworm.
This is an adult of the secondary screwworm, genus Cochliomyia if memory serves (family Calliphoridae, the blow flies). Nice shot showing the stripes on an otherwise metallic green thorax that helps ID this species.
