Bee Identification - Melissodes

Bee Identification - Melissodes
Chassell, Houghton County, Michigan, USA
September 8, 2013
This exquisite tiny bee was on a flower on a sandy two-track. This was in a clearing due to some
logging about five years ago. It was quite brushy on the sides of the two-track with Black-eyed
Susan's and Queen Anne's Lace growing in the two-track itself. I took the picture at 2:00 p.m.
The location is in the western Upper Peninsula of Michigan near Lake Superior.
