Cymindis? - Cymindis americana

Cymindis? - Cymindis americana
nr Ponca, Buffalo National River, Steel Creek, Newton County, Arkansas, USA
September 25, 2013
Size: 13 mm
Collected in a pitfall. Keys to Cymindis (Tarulus) in American Beetles. It certainly looks similar to other Cymindis on Bugguide. I compared it to other Cymindis in the University of Arkansas collection and it is at least another half a large, so I'm wondering if it is indeed

Great, thanks Mike!
Moved from Subgenus Tarulus.

C. americana
Keys to Cymindis americanus in Lindroth (1969). The genus is masculine according to Bousquet (2012) and the name is really Cymindis americana.
The larger size (10.5-16 mm) and "elytra with large, well delimited shoulder macula and extreme size rufo-testaceous" distinguish this from C. unicolor which is smaller (8.0-9.5 mm) with "elytra unicolorous dark or, more often, with entire base indistinctly pale".

Moved from Lebiini.
