Skinning a caterpillar - Polistes dominula

Skinning a caterpillar - Polistes dominula
Antelope Island, Davis County, Utah, USA
August 7, 2013
The rest of these photos show how the wasp skinned the caterpillar and then wadded up the skin to take back to its nest (I presume) to feed the young. It was gruesome and reinforced my dislike of paper wasps. I don't see these caterpillars very often so it was hard to see it get taken apart.
