Polyergus mexicanus
. Sorry, I was a bit hasty on assigning to species. There are 2 or 3 possibilities in Manitoba, and one can't be sure which from this photo. The black ones are the host species in the Formica*fusca group.

I thought harder and I think I know where that stole the formica fusca. The anthill has been around for years and I have a black ant anthill near my house.

Mandibles and coloration
Most
Polyergus
species are not strongly bicolored, and one of the bicolored workers on the lower right seems to have normal dentate mandibles.
