Found about noon in a suburban area (Colorado Springs). The air temperature was about 50F
It opened its wings, but it did not fly

The black head with dull red spot on top and the two black spots on pronotum are enough to separate from anything but

Lygaeus kalmii I think
They don't normally have their wings open when resting.
