Leafhopper - Latalus ocellaris

Leafhopper - Latalus ocellaris
Shirley, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
November 26, 2006
Size: 3.5mm
Found in a sweep of a grassy area.

Moved
If I were this bug, I'd be dark this time of year to absorb more heat:-)

Latalus ocellaris
A dark specimen.

Looks like a few bugs are still at work.
Sweep-netting in late November in New England can pay off!

Still more to post
I found plenty of leafhoppers, planthoppers, spiders, and flies (most of which I let fly off).

I'm inspired.
I saw plenty of small be*etles flying today. I've got my mercury vapor light going right now. I collected a ro*ve and a thro*scid before dinner. There were some small fl*ies & gn*ats as well. I'll head back out in a bit.

I'll have to look and see what you attracted tonight.
