Tiny wasp with Whiteflies

Tiny wasp with Whiteflies
Laguna Beach, Orange County, California, USA
November 25, 2006
Size: ~1mm, seriously
In association with Whiteflies. Parasitoid? Aphelinidae?

Moved
Moved from parasitic Apocrita.

Scelionidae…
Fits this family including tiny size (avg=1-2.5mm), elbowed antennae with the correct number of segments, elongated oval abdomen that is dorsoventrally depressed, yellow coloration possible, and a sculptured thorax. These are neat-looking egg parasitoids and very diverse-looking. The lack of a clubbed antennae indicates that this is a male. Great find Peter.
