Tiger beetle of some kind I t
Tiger beetle of some kind I think. I learned about them when I was a kid and had a "pet" tarantula. I got one of those shiny little beetles and decided to feed it to the tarantula. Thirty minutes later the tarantula was missing 3 legs and had a bunch of extra holes in him, died that evening. I'll never forget that vicious little beetle. Gained a whole new level of respect for the bug world that day.. Fine picture! Arlon

 
Cool story
Bummer about the Tarantula but thats pretty amazing. I knew they were serious predators, but to take on something like a Tarantula is really impressive, I mean, these are not large beetles! Also, amazing photo!
