Formica incerta?? i have a hard time seeing differences in ants...

found nest under rock... eggs have black dot on one end (see third image). not sure which images are needed for id, feel free to frass.

These, at 3mm, are a couple of mm shy of the size of Formica*spp., a good first clue to their ID.
