Any idea which ladybird this is? I know they are variable in color, but this doesn't look much like anything in the guide.

Yes.
It is indeed a coccinellid. I'll bet it turns out to be another morph of Harmonia axyridis! Very nice looking specimen, though, and adds to our documentation of the extreme variation within this species (assuming my ID is correct, of course).
