Culicine mosquito and larva ID help: Culesita inornata mbe - Culiseta inornata - Male
Las Vegas, Desert National Wildlife Refuge, Clark County, Nevada, USA

Size: 4-5 mm
Abundant larva raised to adults pictured here from Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Oliver Ranch site. Adult characters from Nevada mosquito key: Scutellum trilobed with setae on lobes only; second marginal cell longer than its petiole; postspiracular bristles absent; tufts of setae present at subcostal base on ventral side of wings - leads to Culesita. 4th Instar Larva: siphon present; head wide as long.
Habitat: shallow pool with abundant green algae (Spirogyra).
