All these robber fly pix...
are fun to see -- so sharp and bright of insects that are generally hard to get close to.

Any idea of the prey in this one? (an ichneumon wasp possibly?)

Prey.
Prey is some kind of sawfly, probably in the family Tenthredinidae.
