awesome. thanks, gentlemen.
Moved from Acupalpus.

Stenolophus (Stenolophus) plebejus [pale morph]
based on my microscopic examination of this very instructive female specimen which is deposited in the P.W.Messer collection as a photo-voucher. Thanks Tom. New to BugGuide!

The literature says there is a more common dark morph of which I have 2 exx. Both morphs have elytra strongly iridescent, but not shown in photo. Because the coloration is so strikingly different I wonder if perhaps the two morphs are really different species? ABL ~ 4.9 mm, way too large for Acupalpus.

partiarius??
Moved from Ground Beetles.

partiarius would be the first one from the northeast.

yeah... ranges into ME & so. QC

I should have said the first in the guide from the northeast. Now I'll have to find them in other ne states:-)

exactly... )))))))
