Globular Springtail - Ptenothrix

Globular Springtail - Ptenothrix
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
December 9, 2006
Size: 1.5mm
These were found under a board in the garden.
Frans Janssens thinks perhaps these are immature, pale P. maculosa
I think that the tiny one with the bigger 2 is a Dicyrtomina minuta.

Ptenothrix beta
Currently, I have classified these specimens as juveniles of Ptenothrix beta. The pigment pattern does not match with that of maculosa. It matches best with that of beta.
