Explanation of Names
doru is from a Greek word (δορυ) for "spear"
Identification
Back edge of the forewings is black, with the other two thirds yellow. With wings folded this gives the appearance of a black stripe down the middle of the back.

Labidura riparia has black stripes away from the wing edges, giving the appearance of a lighter (usually reddish brown) stripe down the middle of the back.
