Cossonine - Rhyncolus minor

Cossonine - Rhyncolus minor
Brimfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts, USA
April 12, 2013
Size: 2.4mm
The date is misleading. This specimen is from an emergence barrel, which was filled with material about a year prior to the collection. The actual emergence date is unknown and the specimen was likely already dead when collected.

Specimen deposited in MFD private collection.

Tornado related?
Is this part of a survey of woods hit by the tornado?

It sure is...
We've been trapping in there for two years now, and are getting ready to set traps out for a third and final year. In addition, we cut up logs and put them in emergence barrels each year, which is what this latest batch is from.

Moved tentatively; love your stuff, Marc!
