I'm sure you're right, and that explains the situation
I was watching the entrance of a bee nest burrow, where I thought I'd seen an Andrena enter, and this individual kept patrolling around me and landing on a grass clump nearby. The nest occupant never came out, though I could just see its face about 1cm down.
