Sorry, this is not a valid name any more. The taxon was originally described as Odontomyia truquii var. currani James, 1932; than it got move to Hedriodiscus and synonymized with Hedriodiscus turquii. It is turquii or binotatus, the difference should be that binotatus has yellow spots on the thorax... but this genus is very difficult because the keys do not work and there are several species with an unsure status... Right now, I think it is impossible to give it a species names, especially from a picture. I wish I would know a bit more about this genus...

Hi, Jillian!
So glad to see you contributing here:-) We last met at an Audubon Society program in Tucson, originally at a "Wrangling with Writing" conference a few years back. I saw some of your incredible velvet ant shots in Justin Schmidt's presentation at the Ent Soc of America meetings in Indianpolis earlier this month. Great work! Hope all is well, and that you are still enjoying herps, too.

Beat me to it!
Guess I yammered too much about your wasp. Anyway, look at this one, as well:

And how come yours isn't on a yellow flower? LOL!
