C. hubbelli is the only species of Celina in Canada
Identification
Adult: body elongate, reddish-yellow to reddish-brown with basal one-fourth of elytra and pronotum paler. Pronotum with punctures large laterally, fine but evident on disc. Elytra coarsely irregularly punctate, each puncture with short hair; in lateral view lateral margin sinuate. Apex of elytra and abdomen spinulose.

Remarks
Individuals may use the spines at the apex of the elytra and abdomen to pierce cattails and obtain oxygen without swimming to the surface (Hilsenhoff 1994)
