Yes - Syrphus torvus. Cell b
Yes - Syrphus torvus. Cell bm is trichose (thanks for the good image there!), eyes are haired (typical of torvus, unusual for the other Syrphus in this part of the world), hind femur is black on basal 3/4. Nice shot from above - that showed me the yellow hairs on the dorsal surface of the lower calypter, which is the key trait for Syrphus.
