Drone Fly - Palpada albifrons

Drone Fly - Palpada albifrons
Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, USA
November 22, 2004
These little flower flies were very abundant down in South Florida. I noticed the other images being posted and saw some similarities in these shots. Does anyone if this is an Eristalis species? It looks a lot like this shot on Giff Beaton's site. This photo was taken at the Frenchman's Forest Natural Area.

Moved from Palpada.

Palpada sp.
I don't think this is a species of Eristalis.
I think it is a male specimen of Palpada sp. !
Greetings,
Gerard Pennards

Moved it
Thanks Gerard!
