Ephemerella maculata
Healdsburg, Russian River, Sonoma County, California, USA

Size: 5 mm body length
Color variant of E. maculata. Probably comprises less than 5 percent of the population in this area. Unusual, but still keys out to E. maculata and has the distinctive ventral abdominal markings which can be seen here (1). Live specimen.
