Horse Fly - female

Horse Fly - Female
Cabot Trail, Nova Scotia, Canada
August 17, 2005
Size: 16 mm
My family took so many stops along the scenic Cabot Trail that I honestly don't remember the precise location where I captured this Tabanid. So the location field is ... quite vague. Not sure which species this one is, but I'm guessing it could be a Hybomitra. Maybe H. microcephala?
