white-bellied black weevil - Odontocorynus scutellumalbum

white-bellied black weevil - Odontocorynus scutellumalbum
London, Ontario, Canada
June 29, 2004
Two shots of the same individual on bedstraw (Galium sp.) - Charles has photos of similar-looking ones here and Beatriz has 2 or 3 shots showing the white belly in the Guide. If these are Odontocorynus species, these must be one of the two species in Ontario: denticornis or scutellumalbum.

Curculionidae: Odontocorynus scutellumalbum
The choice of scutellumalbum would be the correct one.

O. scutellumalbum
Thanks, Donald. Image moved from family page to new species page.
