Salticid - Zygoballus sexpunctatus - male

Salticid - Zygoballus sexpunctatus - Male
Gloster, Gloster Arboretum, Amite County, Mississippi, USA
October 8, 2006
Size: body length 3.6 mm.
We are satisfied that this is Zygoballus sexpunctatus, probably an adult male.
Note that a foreleg was apparently lost and is undergoing regeneration.
See drawings here, and photo here(1).
Confirmation/correction would be appreciated.

Moved
Moved from Spiders.

I have to agree, and I am VERY jealous! Do you still have it??

Disposition of spider
We kept the spider for a few weeks, but could not induce it to eat, and it was released. Although it appeared to be an adult, if it wasn't, we hoped an additional molt might increase the size of the small foreleg and provide a more photogenic specimen.
Thanks for moving the images.
