Wasp - Listrognathus - male

Wasp - Listrognathus - Male
Deane, Letcher County, Kentucky, USA
May 11, 2014
Size: 8 mm
It was sitting on a weed.

Listrognathus sp.
Specimen now a photo-voucher. Thanks Lisa.

Specimen definitely has the notable characters of Listrognathus, such as the frontal horn and densely punctate abdomen. Only key I was able to find is Cushman 1929, and it doesn't really match any of the species, as Bob said earlier.

Wow
Thanks Brad!

I can't be sure of the species. As far as I can tell, none of the species with this general coloration have descriptions indicating a white spot on the mesoscutum.

Moved from Cryptini.

Thank you for your help.
It is a beautiful Wasp.

This is a nice photo. I hope I will be able to find a match in my collection.

Moved from Ichneumon Wasps.

Thanks
I have it, sending it to Brad.
