Florida panhandle bee

Florida panhandle bee
Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, USA
May 13, 2014
I recently submitted a quite poor photograph of a bee spotted beside a cross-county trail in the Baars-Firestone Wildlife Sanctuary at the University of West Florida.

Since there were a number of these bees at the location, I returned today to see if I could get better photos. At least two bees were at the same spot, but just like the last time, they quickly departed when I tried to photograph them, and I only managed to get a single shot of one bee from a distance. I'm not sure this photo is an improvement on the previous one, but any information will be greatly appreciated!
