Blue and black Butterfly - Papilio glaucus - female

Blue and black Butterfly - Papilio glaucus - Female
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, USA
May 2, 2014
This butterfly and many like it were along a wooded hiking trail. It appears to be a type of swallowtail, maybe? Very pretty.

Possibly an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
I am not an expert at Lepidoptera but it does remind me of the dark form of Eastern tiger swallowtail. The other image you posted is the "normal" form.

I will let someone else weigh in on it.

Jimmy is correct
It is the dark form of a female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, Papilio glaucus.
For the black colored swallowtails, often a view of the underside can make an easier ID.
If the sun shines through their wings you can still see the tiger stripes.
