Braconid ex Chirosia ex netted chain fern - Aphaereta - Female

Size: 2 mm
Last summer five fly larvae burrowed into a little jar of soil, and this spring 27 of these wasps emerged from it. I haven't yet tried to dig up the puparia, but no flies emerged, so I guess they were all parasitized.

These have been raised from at least 15 dipteran families, mostly from calypterate muscoid flies.
