Rove beetle - Platydracus

Rove beetle - Platydracus
Wichita, Kansas, USA
September 22, 2006
I believe this is a Rove beetle. Sunius confluentus perhaps? Would appreciate confirmation or correction. Thank you.

Size?
Size is important in many cases for succesful IDs. This could be Platydracus cinnamopterous.

Size...
...as I recall was about 1/2 inch long. Does this confirm your tentative ID? I appreciate your help.

How long is 14 - 15mm? (I'm not saying.)
If it works out to close to 1/2 inch, go ahead and tag & move this photo to that page in the guide, reached easily by clicking on the link I provided. But *check* first.

Since millimeters are the universal unit for insect size data, you should get a small millimeter scale and use it, giving any estimates in millimeters as well.

Oops!
Sorry, I'm accustomed to using millimeters, but for some reason forgot to do it this time. I appreciate the reminder.
