Mourning Cloak - Nymphalis antiopa

Taking running sap from sapsucker holes on Southern Sugar Maple, Acer barbatum. This is always a good place to find Mourning Cloaks on the first warm days of early spring, according to Dr. Stephen Hall of the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program.
