Seed bug to identify please???
East Angus, Quebec, Canada
August 5, 2006
Hello,

Here is a seed bug that I can't identify...

Can someone help me on that one?

This picture was taken last August 5th at East Angus Quebec (near Vermont/Maine)...

Can we know the name of the plant she is feeding on?

Thanks again :-)

Michel

The bug looks like a nymph of a pentatomid
but we don't recognize it. The plant looks like the fruit of hazelnut -- maybe Corylus cornuta - see here, but it's a tough angle.

Hello John,

Thank you very much for your help... Others confirmed me about the Corylus cornuta but I'm still searching for the insect... For which reasons do you know it is a nymph?

Thank you very much in advance,

Bye,

Michel

Full set of wings covering the
abdomen on an adult partial wings and exposed abdomen on immature for example. Yours appears more like the second example, though obviously a different species.
