Can you tell us why you moved
this from the Meloe genus page? Are you looking for more of an identification? We don't think there is any more to get, but feel free to ask for more if that is what you wish. Thanks,

Moved from Oil Beetles
I am new to the Bug Guide and may have moved it inadvertantly. How do I get the photo back out there?

Bill

The process is described under the tab above
labelled Help. Then click on Images. Basically you TAG, move to the page where you want it, click on Images, and then move tagged image. You can get to the correct page either by clicking on the link in your comment that says moved from, or on the link in Lynette's comment. Try it. See how it goes. Give a shout if you have any trouble. Welcome to BugGuide.net

Oil Beetle
I think this is a female Oil Beetle, a type of blister beetle. Compare with these.

Yes.
I concur. Not sure why it is out at this time of year...

Thanks
Thanks for your identification. The weather in Delaware this year has been unusually warm. When I took the photo of that beetle the temperature was nearly 60 degrees.
