In A. nasatum (left), the telson has a rounded tip, and the isopod rolls into an imperfect ball. In A. vulgare (right), the telson is more trapezoidal and the isopod rolls into a perfect ball. The shape of the rolled-up ball is illustrated in the other image of these individuals.
