Mimosa Yellow - Pyrisitia nise

Mimosa Yellow - Pyrisitia nise
NABA Butterfly Park, Mission area, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
October 19, 2006
This photo came out nicely, I feel, and we don't have too many of this species.
(Thanks for correction on ID--see comments.)

Eurema (or Pyrisitia) nise
Well Ron, you can find this one a little closer than E. (P.) lisa, since it is actually E. (P.) nise.

A good clue, the two little black dots at the base of the wing are missing. The wings are a bit broader in this species too.

Moved from Little Yellow.

I hope to get to the butterfly park next year
but first, my second total knee replacement!

yuck
I've got a sort'a bad knee; hope I never have to go through the same.

A fine specimen
And photo to match. Wish we had them in Southern California.
