Forked Fungus Beetle larvae? - Bolitotherus cornutus
Merrimack, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA

Size: up to 11 mm
A couple tiny mites crashed the party I see. The dark areas appear to be a gut full of the dark brown shelf fungus this larvae has been eating. When the larva stops eating and evacuates its gut (such as when it gets ready to pupate) it makes the body appear much lighter colored.
