pls place the all-important dorsal view here
Moved from ID Request.

dorsal shot
the 2nd image is the best dorsal shot I got, I will try to upload it as the first one next time... is there a way to switch the order now?

no need to switch anything here
i was just hoping you have a dorsal, however imperfect...
your pics here are very nice, but for beetle ID purposes, the single by far most important piece of imagery is straight dorsal view (worth a ton of oblique angles in most cases); without it, other angles, even at higher res, will usually bring you just guesswork, not a reliable ID.
it is thus important to avoid oblique angles that make recognition more difficult, and to do your best obtaining a straight dorsal view; again, this is true for beetles but may or may not apply to other arthropods
