Curious or what - Hermetia illucens

This wasp is very friendly. He'll drink water on beer bottles, land in my beard, hair, shirt and as you can see, my finger. What kind of wasp is this and is he/she trying to find a place to lay an egg or just being a regular pest?

Not a wasp...
Soldier Fly of some kind. I'd be tempted to say H. illucens...



...but yours seems a bit on the small side. Perhaps someone else will know.
