Small Spider - Oecobius

Small Spider - Oecobius
Baton Rouge, Brookhollow Drive, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, USA
August 14, 2006
Size: Body length 2.1 mm.
We believe this is in the genus Oecobius.
It is good match for Perry Babin's fine photo here. It is also a good match for O. navus figured here (1).
We will await confirmation/correction before placement.

Wall Spider
I think you are right. They have a very unusual eye arrangement being far back and almost flat. I don't know about IDing to species.

Thanks Lynette,
I found that if I plan to get involved with spiders, I better be happy with ID to genus!
Seven species of Oecobius are listed for the US, and one of these, O. interpellator, is known only for MA. For LA I figure that narrows it down to one of six, which would be quite acceptable.
