Holly Leafminer - Phytomyza

Holly Leafminer - Phytomyza
Seattle, King County, Washington, USA
January 20, 2007
Size: mines 1cm across
This is from a fly in the Family Agromyzidae. There are a few, so it won't be identified to species, most likely. It could be Phytomyza ilicis, or P. ililocola.
When mines are bigger, I will open one up to photograph the larva.
My info comes from Garden Insects of North America (1).
