Beautiful green stinkbug - Chlorochroa sayi

Beautiful green stinkbug - Chlorochroa sayi
Claremont, Los Angeles County, California, USA
June 3, 2014
This beautiful green stink bug was on Horseweed (Erigeron canadensis) at the Claremont Colleges' Bernard Field Station in an area of recovering coastal sage scrub that had burned about eight months previously. My first thought was that it was either Thyanta custator or Thyanta pallidovirens, which were the only green stinkbugs previously identified at the BFS, but thanks to Ross's help, I see now that this is an entirely different species.

Thanks!
Thank you so much! I was completely wrong on this one. Chlorochroa sayi is a new taxon for the field station, and it wasn't even on my radar.
