larva of cereal leaf beetle - Oulema melanopus

larva of cereal leaf beetle - Oulema melanopus
Fayette City, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA
May 31, 2014
Size: approx 0.25 inch
Has the appearance of a liquid droplet filled with larva (or bits of grass flower petals). I did not know it was a living creature until after I took the photo and researched. The head was hidden. Is it actually liquid on their backs, or is their bodily surface stretched out and clear?
