Thanks Jeff. I didn't notice the white perimeter mark until after I submitted it. Several of the images showed a variety of that dark sort of slot in the middle of the posterior end of the abdomine...does it have a particular function?

is a trait shared by a few members in the genus. Not sure about a particular function.
